Investigating the sources of differential item functioning: A sample critical thinking motivation scale

چکیده
Investigating the existence of items with differential item functioning (DIF) may provide more accurate comparisons group differences in studies that aim to compare scores obtained a test by groups different characteristics. In present study, scale measuring critical thinking motivation was adapted Turkish culture applied 817 participants, who were high school graduates, university students, and graduates. The study examine whether data collected from these participants had DIF or not. Hence, analysis performed via "lordif" function R package. found occur twelve items, three which related gender nine level education. While it revealed content source DIF, education be language expression items.
